Students of various countries give outstanding display of mathematical ability
Lucknow, December 1 : Mathematical prowess
reached its peak as students of various countries competed fiercely in solving
mathematical problems on the second day of the four day International
Mathematics Olympiad 'Matheletics-2023’ organized by City Montessori School,
Rajajipuram Campus II at CMS Kanpur Road auditorium here today. The series of
competitions began today with the Confabulators (debate) competition of
Group-D. In this two-round competition, the selection round was completed
today, in which 45 student teams from India and abroad participated. The
participating students displayed their logical skills while speaking for and
against in the competition. While on the one hand, Poonam Bhatt of Sunrise
Public Secondary School, Nepal, speaking in favour of the topic said that
technology has opened countless ways to solve mathematics problems, on the
other hand, Partha Yovoli of Rustomjie International School, Maharashtra said
that the use of technology has reduced the efficiency of our brain. Similarly,
many other participating students expressed their views strongly with
conviction. 15 meritorious students were selected from the first round, who
will showcase their knowledge and expression ability in the final round.
Similarly,
the Number Ninjas (Maths Game) competition of Group-A was one of the
major attractions of the day. Today the selection round of the competition was
completed, in which students of Classes III and IV demonstrated their
mathematics knowledge. A total of 46 student teams participated in this
competition today, of which the selected teams will showcase their talent in
the final round tomorrow. In Group-D, Mathematicum Le Modele (Model Making),
students of Classes IX and X participated and went all out to beat the
competition and make their school proud. 47 teams participated in this contest.
Models made by students introduced the viewers to a new level of accomplishment
and gave a glimpse of future inventors and builders at work. Judges appreciated
the creativity and artistic talent of these budding mathematicians and
architects.
