Space Exhibition is capable to inculcating a scientific temper and global viewpoint in the minds of students — Mr Brajesh Pathak, Deputy Chief Minister, U.P.

Lucknow, December 7: Chief Guest, Shri Brajesh Pathak, Deputy Chief Minister, UP, inaugurated the three-day ISRO Space Exhibition ‘Vikram Sarabhai Space Science Exhibition’ today at CMS Kanpur Road auditorium by lighting the Lamp of knowledge and wisdom. The occasion was graced by the luminous presence of scientists like Mr Nilesh M. Desai, Director, SAC/ISRO Ahmedabad; Mr N.J. Bhatt, Head, VSSE, Ahmedabad; Mr S.P. Vyas and Ms Rachna Patnaik and other distinguished personalities. CMS students presented a mesmerizing programme with educational-cultural items that left the audience awestruck and craving for more.   It may be mentioned that the three day Space Science Exhibition is being organized by City Montessori School, CMS Kanpur Road Campus from 7 to 9 December in joint collaboration of Space Application Centre, ISRO, Ahmedabad. To study the Space exhibition closely, as many as 10,000 students from India and abroad are arriving here including the Assumption Samutprakarn School, Thailand.

            Addressing the gathering at the inaugural ceremony of ISRO Space Exhibition, the  Deputy Chief Minister of UP, Mr Brajesh Pathak said that this exclusive Space Exhibition is proving to be immensely useful for developing a scientific approach and a global viewpoint among the students and it will lead to scientific progress of the country as a whole besides encouraging the younger generation to develop their scientific capabilities. Special Guest of Honour, Mr Nilesh M. Desai, Director, SAC/ISRO Ahmedabad said that all the students must make maximum efforts to enhance their knowledge about space and its mysteries. Asking questions increases the knowledge of students and satiates their hunger to know more. Mr N. J. Bhatt, Head, VSSE, Ahmedabad said that this is the first time when we have displayed an exhibition of this kind in collaboration with an educational institution and we are delighted to witness the roaring enthusiasm of the students, parents and teachers here.

            Welcoming the Chief Guest and the distinguished visitors and senior scientists to the exhibition, CMS Founder Dr Jagdish Gandhi said that this Exhibition is not only for entertainment but it is an integral part of education as it will reveal the mysteries of the universe to the students and enhance their knowledge of the science of astronomy as well as recent developments in this field. CMS President and MD, Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon said that the exhibition is a wonderful initiative to make the general public aware of the top scientific achievements of the country. Senior Principal of CMS Kanpur Road Campus, Dr Vineeta Kamran expressed her deep gratitude towards all present on this occasion.
