CMS is an inspiration for the youth and adolescents towards Environmental Protection —Renowned Environmentalist Dr Heera Lal Patel, IAS

Renowned Environmentalist, Dr Heera Lal Patel, IAS, Special Secretary, UP,
inaugurated the four-day International Environment Olympiad (IEO-2023) this evening by lighting the lamp of
learning at City Montessori School, Gomti Nagar Campus II auditorium. Addressing
the gathering on this occasion, the Chief Guest, Dr Patel said that City
Montessori School deserves to be praised for inspiring the youth and
adolescents towards environmental protection. Environmental protection and
cleanliness is the greatest need today. It is the energy and power of the youth
community in the world which can help us get rid of the problem of
environmental pollution today. On this memorable occasion, CMS students gave a
wonderful display of their creativity and musical talent through an array of
educational cultural items in honour of the guests and participants from Nepal,
Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, USA, Russia, UAE and various states of
India. It may be mentioned that CMS Gomti Nagar Extension is organizing the
IEO-2023 at CMS Kanpur Road Auditorium from 11 to 14 December 2023.
CMS Founder and renowned educationist, Dr Jagdish
Gandhi welcomed the Chief Guest and distinguished personalities on this
occasion. He
said that we must walk hand in hand with nature. To protect the environment and
keep it clean, it is important for all the people to cooperate actively. He
expressed the belief that this Olympiad will go a long way in making the
students realize their responsibilities towards the natural environment. Senior
Principal of CMS Gomti Nagar Extension and Convenor of IEO, Ms Manjit Batra
said that the IEO will not only uprise the participants about the changing
world environment but also instill in them the values to work for a safe and
pollution free environment for good health and long life. Principal of CMS
Gomti Nagar Extension and Co-Convenor of the IEO 2023, Mrs Sangeeta Bannerji, thanked
the participants and guests for their active involvement in the Olympiad.
Earlier,
the students' delegations from various countries participating in the
'IEO-2023', met the media persons at a
press conference held today and expressed their views freely. Students from St.
Joseph Higher Secondary School in Bangladesh expressed their
enthusiasm for learning new ways to protect the environment, in addition to
participating in healthy contests. Meanwhile, students from Vidyaloka
College in Galle, Colombo, Sri Lanka felt that exchanging ideas with fellow
participants will enhance their knowledge and help them discover new natural
resources. Students from Monastic School in Nepal also shared their
positive thoughts about the Olympiad, saying that it will encourage their peers
to become more conscious and responsible towards the environment. Similarly,
young students from various states in India and abroad also expressed their
views.
