CMS students take out Environment Awareness March

Lucknow, December 9: Students of City Montessori School, Gomti Nagar campus I took out a grand 'Environment Awareness March' and staged a very powerful Nukkad Natak to awaken masses for environment related issues. Students of CMS sensitized people about the ongoing decrease in the environment through the march that initiated today morning at the school campus and went to Lohia Park where a street play was staged on the conservation of the environment. Ahead of it, Mrs Abha Anant, Principal CMS Gomti Nagar Campus I, flagged off the march. Addressing the students on this occasion, Mrs Anant said that greed, indifference and carelessness of people are the root causes of environmental degradation that can only be rooted out if we change our behaviour instead of applying the technique. Mrs Anant encouraged students saying that the responsibility to reduce pollution now is upon you all, and children do what they are committed to doing.

Students of CMS Gomti Nagar Campus I were carrying placards and banners with slogans written on them regarding protection of the environment and reducing pollution during their environment conservation march. Some of the slogans on the poster banners were - 'Silent Wheels, Cleaner Fuels', 'Abki Bar Pradushan Pe War', 'Nature's Guardian Protecting Our Planet', 'Riding Green for a Cleaner Scene' and many more to motivate people for conserving the environment. Besides, Nukkad Natak staged by students encouraged people not to honk horns unnecessarily, switch off electric appliances when not in use, not use polythene bags, stop throwing garbage in a river, pond, or plantation, and use other ways to save the environment.

Mr Hari Om Sharma, Chief Public Relations Officer of CMS informed that CMS has always been a pioneer in doing social awareness programmes and the 'Environment Awareness March' is a chain in this series. It is the endeavour of CMS that the efforts for environmental protection should not be limited to schools only, but every citizen should participate in this noble cause.
