Our mission is to create a safe and secure New World Order for the worlds children — Opinion of the Chief Justices and Judges of 61 countries


 Lucknow, November 6 : Chief Justices, Judges, legal luminaries and other high dignitaries from across the globe, who have gathered here at Lucknow to attend the '24th International Conference of Chief Justices of the World' being organized by City Montessori School, opined in one voice that the purpose of their being here together was to lay the foundation for a safe and secure future for over 2.5 billion children of the world and the generations yet to be born. They added that the spirit of cooperation will create an environment of peace, unity and global brotherhood. Presiding over the inaugural ceremony today, Mr Jean-Henry Ceant, Former Prime Minister of Haiti, said that mankind is afraid and suspicious because the dangers of terrorism, war and nuclear war are before us. In such a situation, it is the duty of all heads of state to make every effort to improve the situation and try to make it even better in the future.  He congratulated CMS Founder Dr Jagdish Gandhi for organizing this conference for past many years with a view to safeguard the future of 2 billion children and generations yet to be born.  It is worth mentioning here that over 250 Chief Justices, judges and legal luminaries from 61 countries of the world are participating in this historic conference.

            Speaking at the plenary sessions of the 4th day of the conference, Ms Justice Naureda Llagami, Chairperson, High Judicial Council, Albania said that the United Nations is failing in its fundamental obligation to intervene in the Ukrain and Israel wars currently going on in the world. There is an urgent need of reform in the UN Charter to make it more effective. Mr Justice Rowland Sextus Mbvundula, Judge, Supreme Court of Appeal, Malawi, said that we fully support the efforts being made for peace. It is our duty as adults to provide a safe and happy environment to our children. They cannot create this environment on their own. Ms Justice María Delfina Vidal La Rosa Sanchez, President, Superior Court of Justice, Lima, Peru, said that the time for Global Governance has already arrived. We now need to use this political environment to establish peace with a view to ensure safety and security of the future generations.

            Chief Justices, judges and legal luminaries held detailed discussions on various topics in the parallel sessions held today. Speaking on the theme 'Enforceable World Law', Mr Justice Orlando Guerrero Mayorga from Nicaragua said that even the views of the countries not included in the UN are important. More involvement will make UN more effective. Mr Justice Anand Koemar Charan, Judge, Supreme Court, Suriname opined that a new charter must be made to include all countries as members of the United Nations. Equal status to all countries can only ensure equality. Similarly, discussions on different other themes were also held which included 'Reform of UN Charter', 'Human Development : Education, Health, Employment, Inequality', ' Action for Climate Change', ' Disarmament and a UN Peace Force' and ' Role of NGOs, Civil Society, Smart Coalitions in Global Governance'. Apprising the press personnel about live thoughts of Chief Justices at a Press Conference today, the convenor of the conference and CMS Founder, Dr Jagdish Gandhi said that all the Chief Justices, Jurists and Legal luminaries opined that the Article 51 (C) of the Indian Constitution is the only solution to the global conundrums. All the Chief Justices agreed that the voice for human values must be raised.
