4-day International Mathematics Olympiad Matheletics 2023 begins at CMS


 

Lucknow, November 30 : The 4-day International Mathematics Olympiad ‘Matheletics 2023’ organized by City Montessori School, Rajajipuram Campus II was grandly inaugurated here held today at CMS Kanpur Road Auditorium by the Chief Guest, Prof. Jai Prakash Pandey, Vice Chancellor of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, by lighting the sacred lamp of learning.  The programme highlighted the spirit of unity in diversity with a wide array of colourful educational-cultural items in honour of the participants from various parts of the world. This four-day Matheletics-2023 is being organized from 30 November to 3 December at CMS Kanpur Road auditorium in which students from Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and various states of India are participating.

            Addressing the august gathering on the occasion, the Chief Guest, Prof. Jai Prakash Pandey said that CMS' efforts in bringing young mathematicians to compete on a common platform are indeed praiseworthy. CMS Founder and renowned educationist, Dr Jagdish Gandhi regarded this event as intended to turn students into fine mathematicians and World Citizens who can make correct judgements and wise choices in life. Dr Gandhi happily said that this huge gathering of maths lovers here shows the wide range and scope of mathematics. The mathematics of life teaches us that good deeds yield good results. Convenor of ‘Matheletics 2023’ and Principal of CMS Rajajipuram Campus II, Mrs Anupama Checker heartily welcomed the Chief Guest and other distinguished guests along with the students and teachers from India and abroad.

            Earlier, the students' delegations from various countries participating in the 'Matheletics-2023', met  the media persons at a press conference held today and expressed their views freely. Addressing the journalists at the press conference, the participating students opined unanimously that Mathematics, the mother of all sciences, is a socially-useful and interesting subject. Many people think that mathematics is a tough nut to crack but interestingly, this is far from the truth as mathematics is really simple, logical and straightforward. Once interest is developed in this subject, there is no looking back. These participating students were keen to increase their knowledge of the subject and also make friends with children of different countries.
