2nd day of International Geography Olympiad 'Geofest International-2023'

Lucknow, 21 November : On the 2nd day of the five-day International Geography Olympiad 'Geofest International-2023' organized by City Montessori School, Jopling Road Campus, participating students of India and abroad showcased their skills and expression carrying the strong message to keep earth clean and green through geographical quizzes, collage, case study presentations and documentary making contests. They were very loud and clear in spreading the message that they have not only gathered here for competitions, rather it is a forum where varied cultures of different nations join hands to steer the yacht of unity and brotherhood beyond the geographical boundaries of nations. Convenor of Geofest International, Mrs Shipra Upadhyay, Principal, CMS Jopling Road Campus informed that 'Geofest International-2023' is being organized from 20 to 24 November at CMS Kanpur Road auditorium in which students from Russia, Nepal, Ireland, Bahrain and various states of India are participating.

            The 2nd day's competitions of Geofest International-2023 began with the quiz competition in the junior category. In this competition, 10 student teams participated in the final round and entertained and enlightened the audience by answering questions at lightning speed. There was a lot of enthusiasm and excitement among the audience for the audio-visual round of the competition, expertly conducted by Ms Shivalika Acharya. Similarly, the quiz competition of the senior category was also filled with thrills and excitement. In the collage competition titled “I observe, I serve, I preserve”, the talents and creativity of the students poured out. In this competition, the participating students depicted the hazards being faced by man due to pollution and other forms of environmental degradation and ways to save Mother Nature. While on the one hand the participating students demonstrated their technical knowledge and creative talent in the Geo Tech (Documentary Making Competition), on the other hand, they enthralled everyone by demonstrating their environmental awareness and intellectual knowledge in the Geo Solution (Case Study Presentation) competition. Similarly, in the Geo Toons competition, the creativity of the students was worth watching, as they created a booklet on the theme of 'Earth Warriors' highlighting the importance of pure water, air and good soil.
