5-day International Geography Olympiad 'Geofest International-2023' comes to a grand close


 

Lucknow, 24 November : The five-day International Geography Olympiad 'Geofest International-2023' organized by City Montessori School, Jopling Road Campus came to a conclusion with a grand Prize Distribution cum Closing Ceremony held here at CMS Kanpur Road auditorium this evening where the young geographers from India and abroad pledged to keep the Mother Earth green and clean always. Kids Gurukul International Jalgaon, Maharashtra, displayed their supremacy by bagging the Overall Championship of Geofest International-2023 whereas Bal Bharati School, New Delhi won the runner-up trophy. It is worth mentioning here that around 500 students from Russia, Nepal, Ireland, Bahrain and various states of India enthusiastically participated in various contests viz Gel-o-Mime, Geotalk, Geo Ads, Geo Quiz, Geo Collage, Geo Floor Art, 3-D Model Making, 3-D Soft Board, Geo Taste, Geo Tech, Geo Toons, Geo Solutions, Geo Tales, Geo Fashion, Geo Sync and Geo Plea each imparting the message for keeping our Mother Earth green and prosperous.

               CMS Founder, Dr Jagdish Gandhi inaugurated the Prize Distribution cum Closing Ceremony of Geofest International-2023 by lighting the lamp of learning. Addressing the gathering on this occasion, Dr Gandhi said that the torch of unity set alight here at Geofest will illumine the whole world with its radiance and spread the philosophy of Vasudhaiv Kutumbkam amongst humanity. At the Prize Distribution and Closing Ceremony of Geofest, students of CMS presented several colourful educational-cultural items in honour of the participating teams and their team leaders. On this occasion, the Convener of Geofest International-2023 and Principal of CMS Jopling Road Campus, Mrs Shipra Upadhyay said that enormous talent and enthusiasm of students makes us confident that these students will carve a bright future for all mankind and realize the dream of a clean and green earth.

               Chief Public Relations Officer of CMS, Mr Hari Om Sharma informed that on the fifth and final day of Geofest International-2023, the Geo Plea (Traditional Folk Dance) Contest was held.  Students from India and abroad very enthusiastically participated in this contest showcasing the passion to do something new. During the competition, the auditorium resonated with applause several times.
