Environmental education must be imparted to children from their earliest years — Renowned environmentalist, Swami Prem Parivartan Peepal Baba

Lucknow, 20 November : The five-day International Geography Olympiad 'Geofest International-2023' was inaugurated this evening at CMS Kanpur Road auditorium here by renowned environmental Guru Swami Prem Parivartan Peepal Baba, Founder, of 'Give Me Trees' trust by lighting the lamp of learning. In his address, the Chief Guest 'Peepal Baba' said that CMS is inspiring the youth and students of the world to save the earth from environmental degradation, the school needs high commendation. Peepal Baba further said that the environmental education must be imparted to children from their earliest years. Society has high expectations for the younger generation. He expressed the belief that the 'Geofest' would instill a love for Mother Nature in the minds of all the children. It is worth mentioning here that Geofest International-2023 is being organized from 20 to 24 November at CMS Kanpur Road Auditorium in which around 500 students from Russia, Nepal, Ireland, Bahrain and various states of India are participating.

            CMS Founder and renowned educationist, Dr Jagdish Gandhi said that it is our duty to inform the younger generation about the dangers of environmental pollution and the worrying situation today. Convenor of Geofest International-2023 and Principal of CMS Jopling Road Campus, Mrs Shipra Upadhyay welcomed the distinguished guests and participating students of far and near saying that the Geofest will bring about total personality development. At the inaugural ceremony, CMS students presented various educational cultural items showcasing a call for a green revolution. The picture of Unity in Diversity was complete as the vision of One World appeared through the cultural presentations.

            Earlier, the students' delegation from India and abroad, who are participating in the 'Geofest International-2023', met with the media persons at a press conference held in the afternoon and expressed their views freely. Addressing the journalists at the press conference, the participating students opined unanimously that the human race must be in compatibility with Mother Nature to ensure its prosperity and growth in the coming years. All the people of the world should join hands to conserve the environment and natural resources, they said. Further speaking to the press personnel, these participating students said that we have come here to participate in contests of Geofest and experience the rich culture and tradition of Lucknow.
