Chief Justices, Judges and high dignitaries from 61 countries arriving at Lucknow today


 

Lucknow, 2 November : Over 250 Chief Justices, Judges, legal luminaries and other eminent dignitaries from 61 countries are arriving here at Lucknow today to participate in the '24th International Conference of Chief Justices of the World' organized by City Montessori School from 3 to 7 November at CMS Kanpur Road auditorium. Earlier, these eminent dignitaries paid respect to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, offering a wreath and flowers at his Samadhi 'Rajghat' in New Delhi and then the first session of the 'International Chief Justices Conference' organized at the Constitution Club in New Delhi. Mr Marie Cyril Eddy Boissezon, Vice-President of Mauritius inaugurated the first session of this historic Conference. Addressing the world judiciary on this occasion, Mr Boissezon said that the world of today gripped in fear, chaos and conflict due to war and terrorism, is in urgent need of World Unity and World Peace.

            Chief Public Relations Officer of CMS, Mr Hari Om Sharma informed that the dignified guests of 61 nations will come to Lucknow tomorrow, on 3 November, at 9.00 am, and they will be accorded a hearty welcome at the Amausi airport. Tomorrow, on 3rd November at 5.00 pm, a grand Welcome Ceremony will be held in honour of these esteemed guests. Hon'ble Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, Minister of Law & Justice (Independent Charge) Govt. of India will be the Chief Guest on this occasion while the Mayor of Lucknow, Mrs Sushma Kharakwal will be the Special Guest of Honour at the welcome ceremony.

            Mr Sharma informed that this historic conference will be formally inaugurated on 4th November, Saturday at 9.00 am at CMS Kanpur Road auditorium. The five-day long conference will be witnessing the gracious presence of Shri Keshav Prasad Maurya, Deputy Chief Minister, UP; Shri Brajesh Pathak, Deputy Chief Minister, UP; Shri Suresh Khanna, Finance Minister, UP; Mr Abdessatar Ben Moussa, 2015 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate; Mr Stjepan Mesic, Ex-President, Croatia; Mr Teburoro Tito, Ex-President, Republic of Kiribati; Mr Jean-Henry Ceant, Ex-Prime Minister, Haiti; Dr Pakalitha B. Mosisili, Ex-Prime Minister, Lesotho; Mr Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, Speaker of the Parliament, Ghana; Mr Justice Leonardo Brant, Judge, International Court of Justice, Netherlands and many others.
