Grand inauguration of International Sports Festival Spardha International-2021

Lucknow, 17August : The 2-day International Sports Festival 'Spardha International 2021' organized by City Montessori School, RDSO Campus got a kick-off with a formal inauguration today by the Chief Guest, Mr Bill Anderson, Ex-Coach, National Rugby League, Australia in a grand inaugural ceremony held online. Young sportspersons from various countries of the world including Bahrain, Bangladesh, Bulgaria, Oman, Thailand, Vietnam and various states of India are participating in this international festival. A colourful educational cultural programme was presented online at the inaugural ceremony in honour of the eminent guests and participants of Spardha International 2021 from India and abroad.

            In his inaugural address delivered on this occasion, the Chief Guest, Mr Bill Anderson, Ex-Coach, National Rugby League, Australia profusely commended CMS for organizing this online sports event and said that at a time when children are tired of being locked in their homes due to Corona Pandemic, such online events go a long way in encouraging children, promoting their fitness and creativity. Sports competitions develop the spirit of discipline, unity, cooperation and harmony in children and this spirit makes children good citizens.

            Earlier, the online inaugural ceremony of Spardha International 2021 began with the School Prayer followed by All Religion Prayer, World Unity Prayer and Welcome song 'Aayo Re, Aayo Re, Shubh Din Aayo Re.' CMS students' World Parliament, Hymn 'You raise me up', school choir 'My favourite things, what a wonderful world', primary students' item 'Joy Givers - Hakuna Matata' were the special presentations that won all hearts.

            Welcoming the Chief Guest and other eminent dignitaries, CMS Founder and renowned educationist, Dr Jagdish Gandhi said that Spardha International 2021 is one of the many attempts of CMS to inculcate the spirit of world peace and world unity in the future generation by providing them opportunity to know each others' culture and traditions and developing bonds of friendships through interaction. The spirit of sports promotes the spirit of unity, cooperation and discipline in the children, he said. Founder-Director of CMS, Dr Bharti Gandhi; President of CMS and MD, Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon and Chief Executive Officer of CMS, Mr Roshan Gandhi also put forth their views on the occasion. Convener of Spardha International 2021 and Principal of CMS RDSO Campus, Ms Jyotsana Atul welcomed and thanked all the participating students, sports experts and dignitaries from India and abroad.

            Chief Public Relations Officer of CMS, Mr Hari Om Sharma informed that young sportspersons aged between 4 to 19 years from prestigious schools of Bahrain, Bangladesh, Bulgaria, Oman, Thailand, Vietnam and various states of India have sent their sports and fitness videos for participation in different competitions being held online at Spardha International 2021. The competitions include, Zumba, Yoga, Skipping, Skating, Talk-a-Thon, Freestyle Football, Sit-ups, Push-ups, Bounce Back etc. The best entries have been selected by eminent personalities and experts from the sports world. He informed that former Indian test bowler, Mr R P Singh Senior will be the Chief Guest of the closing ceremony of Spardha International 2021 to be held tomorrow on 18th August at 5.00 pm, while Mr Somdeaw Ket-In, Education Supervisor, Thailand will be the Guest of Honour on this occasion.
