Dr Jagdish Gandhi to be awarded UKs global PIEoneer Award
Lucknow, May 20 : Dr Jagdish Gandhi,
Founder-Manager of City Montessori School, Lucknow, has been shortlisted as a
finalist for the global PIEoneer Awards 2021 for his contributions to the cause
of education, bringing pride to the city of Lucknow. Chief Public Relations
Officer of CMS Mr Hari Om Sharma informed that Dr Jagdish Gandhi's lifelong
commitment to reimagining education as a vehicle for world unity and peace continues
to achieve significant international recognition on the most prestigious of
stages. Under the able guidance of Dr Gandhi, City Montessori School has been
organizing the 'International Conference of Chief Justices of the World' for
the past 20 years consecutively. These conferences have been attended by 1222
Chief Justices, Judges and Heads of States of 133 countries to endorse the CMS
mission to safeguard the children of the world and the generation yet to come.
In
an informal chat, Dr Gandhi said, “In
this increasingly interconnected world, the implementation of global
citizenship education and global competency programmes in schools has become
indispensable, if we are to find enduring solutions to problems such as climate
change, armed conflicts and extreme inequality”.
Mr Shrama
added that for 62 years, Dr Gandhi has spearheaded the idea that education must
broaden students' perspectives and develop global competencies. Adopting the
motto of 'Jai Jagat', he championed a vision of education that nurtures
students to not only excel in academic education but also to become globally
aware, empathetic world citizens. Although Dr Jagdish Gandhi has received many
honours for his outstanding contributions to the cause of education, being
nominated for a prestigious award like the PIEoneer is special as since their inception
in 2017, have celebrated true innovation and achievement in the field of global
education. Selection as a finalist in this ‘Professionals
in Education’ Award affirms Dr Gandhi's standing as a proven leader in the
field of international education, especially for his contributions to education
for global citizenship.
