City International School Celebrates Motherhood

Lucknow, May 10 : Saluting all mothers at a grand celebration, the children and teachers of City International Schools in Lucknow, Barabanki, Kanpur and Jaipur joined hands together to celebrate a virtual Mother’s Day, for all mothers as the First Educators whose presence, love and affection makes each child bloom, develop and grow into a fruitful tree.

            Quoting from the Baha’i Writings, Dr. Sunita Gandhi, Director CIS said: “For mothers are the first educators, the first mentors; and truly it is the mothers who determine the happiness, the future greatness, the courteous ways and learning and judgement, the understanding and the faith of their little ones.”

            The memorable program started with melodious prayers and beautiful songs for the mothers, recitation of poetry for mothers written by the children, dances, instrumental presentations, a quiz on mothers in which children participated actively to answer questions about their mother was truly loved by all. Children from playgroup to class 12 actively participated. PowerPoint presentations showcasing the photographs of all the children sharing precious moments with their mothers making Mother’s Day cards and doing acts of services for their mothers. There were also exciting games in which the parents and the children joyously participated.

            Dr. Bharti Gandhi, Mentor and Guide CIS Schools, graced the program with her presence as the Chief Guest shared encouraging words for all those who contributing to making the program a grand success. She also acknowledged the countless sacrifices and hours of hard work that every mother puts in to ensure the happiness and progress of their child.

            A highlight of the program was acknowledgement of mothers of the five children who have made it to foreign universities this year: Komal Gandhi, Harvard University, Anusha Bharadwaj, Illinois Institute of Technology, and offers from 11 other universities by Prabal Singh, Arihant Nath Choudhary and Harsh Varma. These children demonstrate the fruits of labour of the many mothers who have been contributing, together with the School, in assisting the students strive towards excellence.
