CMS students take out grand march calling for 'Character Building'

Lucknow, November 5: City Montessori School organized a grand 'Meritorious Students Felicitation Function' today at the CMS Gomti Nagar Extension Campus auditorium. The event was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Dr. Pradeep Kumar, Joint Director, Education, by lighting the ceremonial lamp. At the felicitation function, Arushi Singh Chauhan of CMS Rajajipuram Campus I was especially honoured for securing the first position in the 2nd Inter-Campus Comparative Examinations of ISC (Class XII). She has secured 94.63% marks in the aggregate topping the merit list of CMS Comparative Examinations. On this occasion, the mother of Arushi was weighed in fruits and flowers as per CMS tradition while her father and teacher-guardian were presented Shawls of Honour. Apart from this, the top ten position holders of the 2nd Inter-campus Comparative Examination, Campus toppers of the Comparative Examination and those who have brought name and fame to the city of Lucknow in various competitions were also honoured and felicitated.

             Addressing the large gathering of students on this occasion, the Chief Guest Dr. Pradeep Kumar emphasized the need for personality development alongside academic excellence. He expressed his pleasure that CMS is preparing its students as Total Quality Persons by providing an excellent education. CMS Manager, Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon said that the implementation of the National Education Policy-2020 has brought about positive changes in the educational landscape. She highlighted the importance of academic excellence apart from creativity, communication skills and expertise in chosen field for success. CMS teachers, therefore, are facilitating the holistic development of its students by providing them skill-based education focussed on observation, introspection, attribution and experimentation, she added.

             Earlier, CMS Superior Principal and Head of the Quality Education and Innovation Department, Ms. Sushmita Ghosh, extended a warm welcome to the Chief Guest, other dignitaries, meritorious students, and teachers, outlining the school’s achievements over the year. On this occasion, Mr. Sandeep Bhalla, representative of the University of Sydney, Australia; Mr. Vikram Patel from Plaksha University and Ms. Namrata Khosla from FLAME University provided insightful information on career prospects for the students. Additionally, CMS teachers Ms. Sharad Mishra, Mr. Sudhanshu Gaur and Dr. S.C. Tripathi shared valuable suggestions for upcoming board exams on Chemistry, Physical Education, and Biology respectively. The function began with a melodious presentation of School Prayer by CMS students. The All Religions Prayer,  Prayer Dance and Choreography and many other items presented on the occasion left the audience mesmerized. At the end of the ceremony, CMS Founder-Director Dr. Bharti Gandhi blessed the meritorious students and teachers saying that these bright minds will bring in a Divine civilization and lead mankind towards new goals of achievement.

             Before the felicitation ceremony, thousands of CMS students took out a grand ‘Character Building March’ from Maqdoompur Police Station at Gomti Nagar Extension to the CMS Gomti Nagar Extension Campus auditorium, strongly voicing the need for character building of younger generation. CMS Founder-Director Dr. Bharti Gandhi and CMS Manager Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon led this grand march, accompanied by principals from all CMS campuses and prominent figures from education, society, literature, and journalism, who encouraged the students and inspired the younger generation towards moral excellence.
