District Magistrate Shri Suryapal Gangwar inaugurates International Childrens Camp Young delegates of 9 countries showcase amazing view of global culture

December 30: The 28th International Children's Camp being hosted by City
Montessori School was inaugurated today at CMS Kanpur Road auditorium. Chief
Guest, Shri Suryapal Gangwar, IAS, District Magistrate, Lucknow, ceremoniously
inaugurated the International Children's Camp by lighting the lamp of unity and
peace. On this occasion, the young delegates arrived from Brazil, Finland,
Germany, Italy, Japan, Mongolia, Mexico, Sweden and India, through their
scintillating educational-cultural
items, presented a splendid view of 'global culture' spreading the message of
World Peace and World Unity all around. It may be mentioned that CMS is hosting International
Children's Camp from 28 December 2022 to 19 January 2023 in which 11 to 12
years old children from 9 countries are staying together under one roof. The
junior counsellors, aged 16-17 years are also participating in the camp to act
as intermediaries between the children and the adults.
Addressing the gathering on this
occasion, the Chief Guest, Shri Suryapal Gangwar, IAS, District Magistrate,
Lucknow, said that the
camp's presentation showcasing unity in diversity is commendable. Children of
several nations are staying together which will definitely establish a loving
and long lasting bond among them. He expressed belief that these children will
illumine the whole world with their global thoughts. On this occasion, CMS
Founder and President of CISV India Chapter,
Dr Jagdish Gandhi said that this International Children's Camp shows the
glimpse of a mini world, where children of various countries are trained to
learn love, peace, unity, cooperation and brotherhood that will remain with
them throughout their life.
Earlier, the grand inaugural
function of this International Children's Camp displayed a glimpse of a world
without borders as the young representatives of 9 countries introduced
themselves in style. The ceremony began with the World Peace Prayer. The young
participants welcomed the New Year and melodiously sang CISV song, simply
captivating the audience.
CMS President and MD, Prof. Geeta
Gandhi Kingdon said that this
International Children Camp enhances the sentiments of mutual understanding
among the children of various countries and inspires the young children to
tread the path of peace, unity and brotherhood. Joint Secretary of the
International Children's Camp and Principal of CMS Rajajipuram Campus I, Mrs
Nisha Pandey said that the aim to keep these young children together under
one roof for almost a month to instil feelings of mutual understanding and
global brotherhood in their tender hearts and enable them to grow up with a
global vision.
Ms Seema Biswas, the director of
International Children's Camp informed that this international children's camp is being organized under the
aegis of Children's International Summer Village Camp (CISV) of England. CMS is
hosting the 28th International Children's Camp in which teams of four children,
two boys and two girls in each team are participating with their team leaders.
She informed that the food, accommodation, games and sports, sightseeing of
historical places and medical facilities are all arranged by CMS.
