CMS and LaMartiniere record wins in the first phase of tournament

Lucknow, December 19 : Five day International Football Tournament 'Concord-2022'  organized by City Montessori School, Station Road Campus, kicked off to a fine start at CMS Jai Jagat Stadium and Chowk Stadium. Today, a total of 12 matches were played, with eight matches in the boys’ category and 4 matches in girls’ category. The boys’ matches were held on the two football fields at Chowk Stadium while the girls’ matches were held at Jai Jagat Stadium adjacent to CMS Kanpur Road Campus. It may be mentioned that Concord-2022 is being organized from 18 to 22 December in which teams from Nepal and various states of India are in the fray for the coveted football trophy.

            On the second day of CONCORD 2022, boys' matches were held in the Chowk Stadium. The first match played on ground 1 was between City Montessori School, Lucknow and Kainat International School, Bihar whcih resulted in a 5-2 win for City Montessori School. Devansh of CMS scored 2 goals while Ojasva Yadav of CMS was presented Player of the Match award. Similarly, LaMartiniere College, Lucknow defeated Shree Ugratara Bal Vidyalaya, Nepal with a score of 8-0 while St. Joseph's Convent Sr. Sec. School, Madhya Pradesh defeated Cambridge School, Rajasthan by a margin of 2-0. Team of Little Angels High School, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh defeated Sunbeam School, Varuna, Varanasi by 2-0 while DPS Eldeco, Lucknow won by 2-1 score defeating Orchid College, Nepal.

        In the girls' category, the matches were played at Jai Jagat Stadum, CMS Kanpur road and most of them remained one sided. On one hand, the girls of Army Public School, Lucknow defeated Sunbeam School, Varuna, Varanasi with 17-0 score while on the other hand, Vishnu Bhagwan Public School, Prayagraj defeated Little Angels High School, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh by a huge margin of 22-0. Shreyashi of Army Public School and Anchal Patel of Vishnu Bhagwan Public School, Prayagraj  displayed outstanding abilites in football and won Player of the Match titles.

            It is worth mentioning that CONCORD 2022 will see 12 matches being played on daily basis. Matches begin at 8.00 am, then at 10.00 am, after that at 12 noon and later at 2.00 am. The tournament is being held on knockout basis strictly adhering to the football rules of International Football Association, FIFA.
