CMS student wins first prize in chess tournament

Lucknow, 30 September : Sampoorn Tiwari of Class XII, City Montessori School, Rajajipuiram Campus I conquered the fort winning first prize in Lucknow Rapid Chess Tournament bringing laurels to his school. Sampoorn Tiwari won the tournament in Under-15 category. The tournament was organized under the aegis of Happy Saquares Acdemy, Dubai. This information was given by the Chief Public Relations Officer of CMS, Mr Hari Om Sharma. Shri Sharma further stated that students of several prestigious schools participated in this championship. In the midst of stiff competition, this gifted chess player displayed extreme patience, perseverance, clever moves and a genius mind with which he was able to overcome all obstacles and emerge the winner. The skill and maneuvers exhibited by him amazed the judges as he beat his opponent and was crowned with success. The organizers rewarded Sampoorn with a Certificate of Merit and a medal.             Mr Sharma said that CMS students are doing excellently well at national and international level in various games and sports. The school is giving them full support through its regular training in various games and sports and encouraging participation at different levels.
