CMS has put the city of Lucknow on the World Map — Shri Brajesh Pathak, Minister for Law & Justice, UP

Lucknow, October 2 : City Montessori School celebrated the 152nd birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi virtually with great enthusiasm and joy, conveying the message to follow his principles and ideals. The programme commenced with virtual lighting of the lamp and garlanding the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi. In their succinct address, the Chief Guest Shri Brajesh Pathak, Minister for Law and Justice, Uttar Pradesh and CMS founder Dr Jagdish Gandhi gave the message of imbibing Bapu's ideals in our lives. Nearly three thousand CMS teachers and staff joined the online programme dressed in white Khadi clothes and added to the significance of the celebrations. The occasion was also marked by the presence of CMS Founder-Director, Dr (Mrs) Bharti Gandhi; CMS President and MD, Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon; Chief Executive Officer of CMS, Mr Roshan Gandhi; Superior Principal and Head of CMS Centre for School Improvement, Ms Susmita Basu; Principals of all CMS Campuses and other dignitaries.

            Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest Shri Brajesh Pathak, Minister for Law and Justice, Uttar Pradesh paid his respects to the Father of the Nation and said that, ‘CMS is bringing international fame to the city of Lucknow and its students are realizing the spirit of Jai Jagat and Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam. Thousands of students who have crossed the portals of the school have taken up important administrative careers and are serving humanity. He further said that the records that CMS has set in education and social sector under the guidance of Drs Jagdish and Bharti Gandhi are difficult to even envisage in the present time. I hope that very soon CMS becomes the best school not only in the city but that of the world.

            Earlier, the CMS teachers conveyed the spirit of non-violence through several educational-cultural programs, and propagated the message of world unity and world peace. The programme started with the singing of 'Vande Mataram' and the school prayer. A special cultural presentation 'Vaada Hai', which motivated the society at large to get vaccinated against Corona virus, was greatly appreciated. The song was composed and filmed by Mumbai based composer, writer and CMS former student, Rahul Seth under the leadership of the CMS Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Roshan Gandhi. Presentation of a short film based on the life and philosophy of Bapu, World Parliament, All-Religion and World Peace Prayer, welcome song, Qawwali 'Apne Maa Baap Ka Dil Na Dukha', inspirational song, short drama and singing of Bapu's melodious hymns created an inspirational and serene atmosphere.

            Citing the example of Mahatma Gandhi, CMS Founder, Dr Jagdish Gandhi said that students should be taught devotion to God and inculcated with morality and good values from their very formative years in order to make them good citizens of the society. He emphasized that unity, peace and harmony in the society can only be achieved by following the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi. Welcoming the dignitaries, CMS Principals, teachers and staff, CMS President and MD, Prof Geeta Gandhi Kingdon, said that the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi are relevant even today and will always remain so. CMS Founder Director Dr. (Mrs.) Bharti Gandhi expressed her heartfelt gratitude to all for organizing the successful program.
