CMS Alumnus and Joint Secretary in External Affairs Ministry, Prakash Gupta address UNSC


 

Lucknow, October 19 : Former Student of City Montessori School and Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs, Prakash Gupta recently made a powerful and thought-provoking address at the UN Security Council and impressed the world leaders with his globally inclusive ideology. Shri Gupta drew the attention of the world community to various global problems, especially highlighting the current situation in Somalia and presented India's perspective of peaceful settlement well on the international stage. His address was well-received by the world community who acknowledged his thoughts and effective speech.

            CMS Founder, Dr Jagdish Gandhi congratulated Prakash on his enormous achievement and said that watching Prakash’s address to the UN made him realise that the CMS motto of ‘Jai Jagat’ is resounding the world over. Dr Gandhi further said that Prakash has very effectively presented those principles before the world community which CMS has been teaching its students for the past 63 years.

            Prakash Gupta did his entire schooling up to class 12 from CMS Station Road campus and was later selected in the prestigious Indian Foreign Services (IFS) through the Civil Services examinations. Prakash has served his country in important positions in the Indian missions in USA, Indonesia, China etc. He is currently posted as Joint Secretary (UN Political and Summits) in the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India in New Delhi.Prakash has credited his teachers and the educational environment of his school which enabled him to achieve such big milestones in his career and bring glory to his country.
