Lucknow girl secures distinction in ABRSM Violin grade 5 exam
Lucknow, 31 January : In a first for the city of Lucknow, Ritika Tiwari, a student of class X of City Montessori School, Gomti Nagar Extension Campus passed the ABRSM grade 5 practical exam in Violin with Distinction. Ritika achieved this feat with online teaching by the CMS Western Music Teacher, Mr Shamim Mohaved who took all her classes online for the last 10 months due to COVID. Earlier, she had also passed grade 5 music theory exam with Distinction.
To secure Distinction in grade 5
violin is a serious achievement as violin is a difficult instrument and Grade 5
of ABRSM requires a high level of playing and much skill. She achieved this
feat while also preparing for her board exams for which she will appear this
year.
A banker's daughter, Ritika wants
to make a career in Music. She says, 'Seeing my interest in music, my teachers
at CMS motivated me to take violin classes which I did and kept getting better
under the guidance of my western music teacher. I had never taken any
professional music classes before my school music teachers trained me.' Ritika
is being trained in western classical music by her music teachers in CMS since
the last 3 years.

Gandhi, Founder Manager, CMS congratulated Ritika and said that in addition to Indian
classical music training, CMS also offers one-to-one western classical music
lessons to interested students.
