IEO-2021: Participants from India and abroad venerate mystical beauty of nature


Lucknow, January 21 : Students of various countries of the world including Germany, Jordan, Russia, USA, Canada, Ireland, UAE, Sri Lanka, Nepal and several states of India displayed their reverence for the mystical beauty of nature through their participation in various competitions held at the 3-day International Environment Olympiad (IEO-2021) organized online  by City Montessori School, Gomti Nagar Campus II and gave the message of environment conservation to the entire world. Participating students from around the world displayed their knowledge about the environment through their participation in competitions including Life Cycle (Model Making), The Hue Story (Art Designing), Fantasy Carnival (Mask Making), Ecosperity (Garment designing), Spread Your Wings (Choreography), Ode to Nature (Elocution), Website Design Competition, Imagineering My Future (Re-designing the Globe), Mysteries of Nature (Environment Quiz), Winds of Change (Future Friendly School) and Shutter and Quill (Shoot out) etc. At the same time, they highlighted the importance of the five elements of nature including water, air, fire, earth and ether. The prize winners of various competitions were honoured and felicitated in the evening session today.

            Chief Public Relations Officer of CMS, Mr Hari Om Sharma informed that Imagineering My Future (Re-designing the Globe) competition held today at IEO-2021 was the centre of attraction for one and all. At this competition, the young engineers and scientists presented their eco-friendly ideas on 'My Idea of a Smart City' through their projects that they explained online before the judges. Besides their knowledge of the subject, the participants' quick and thoughtful replies to the questions put up by the judges conveyed their concern for the environment. Through their self made models and projects, the students conveyed the idea that knowledge of science must be used for the benefit of the human race.

            Mr Sharma further informed that the final round of environment quiz 'Mysteries of Nature' was conducted by the able and renowned quiz master Mr Hitesh Keshwani and eight finalists participated in it. Participants' prompt replies to the most difficult questions amazed all as they displayed their depth of knowledge and their concern for the Mother Earth. The quiz was conducted in three rounds, each being more engrossing than the previous one.

            IEO-2021 concluded with the online prize distribution ceremony organized in the evening wherein the prize winners of various competitions were announced. On this occasion, the Founder of CMS and renowned educationist, Dr Jagdish Gandhi and President of CMS, Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon motivated the participants to work for environment conservation and social welfare. While expressing gratitude towards all participating students and teachers from India and abroad, the convener of the Olympiad and Senior Principal of CMS Gomti Nagar Campus II, Ms Manjit Batra and Co-convener and Principal, Mrs. Sangeeta Banerjee expressed their confidence that the torch of environment conservation that CMS has lit with this olympiad will light the entire world.
