Finance Minister Shri Suresh Khanna honours CMS meritorious students

Lucknow, 4 August : City Montessori School organized a grand Meritorious Students' Felicitation Function today at CMS Kanpur Road auditorium. Chief Guest, Shri Suresh Khanna, Minister of Finance, UP, honoured the outstanding CMS students on this occasion. The special highlight of the day was the honouring of the parents of topper students. Earlier, the Chief Guest, Shri Suresh Khanna inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp of learning. Addressing the gathering on this occasion, Shri Khanna said that CMS is way ahead of others providing high quality academic education as well as education of human values and traditions. Spirituality is an essential part of education, he said. Further, a child must be taught to grow up and serve society and humanity. Quoting from the scriptures, he said that material wealth is good but it cannot give complete satisfaction. He advised the students to step ahead with a positive attitude and leave negativity behind. On this occasion, Ms Susmita Ghose, Superior Principal and Head of Quality Assurance and Innovation Department of CMS, welcomed the meritorious students, teachers and distinguished guests.

            At the felicitation ceremony, Yahvi Mohan, student of Mahanagar Campus was especially honoured for securing first position in the Inter-Campus Comparative Examinations of ICSE (Class X). She has secured 97.07% marks in the aggregate topping in the merit list of Comparative Examinations. On this occasion, mother of Yahvi Mohan was weighed in fruits and flowers as per CMS tradition while her father and teacher guardian were presented Shawls of Honour.  Apart from this, the top ten position holders of the Inter-campus First Comparative Examination, Campus toppers of First Comparative Examination and those who brought name and fame to the city of Lucknow in various competitions were also honoured and felicitated. The programme began with the school prayer followed by a series of educational-cultural items of CMS students which mesmerized one and all. A special Career Counselling session was also held to guide the students.CMS Founder and renowned educationist, Dr Jagdish Gandhi said that CMS is committed to promoting excellence in all subjects. It prepares students to become total quality persons and world citizens. CMS President and MD, Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon said that academic excellence must be combined with character building and education of values. It is good to excel in studies and get a lucrative job but more important it is to become a good human being. CMS students are both good and smart. She congratulated the position holders and wished them all the best for their future. At the end, CMS Founder and renowned educationist, Dr Bharti Gandhi thanked one and all for their active participation.
