Grand virtual inauguration of Macfair International-2020 in CMS


 

Lucknow, 21 May : A grand inauguration of five-day Macfair International-2020, an International Competition of Science and Computer, organized by City Montessori School, Mahanagar Campus got inaugurated today online. Chief Guest, Mrs Sangeeta Singh, IAS, Chief Executive Officer, Aayushman Bharat and MD, Medical Supplies Corporation, inaugurated the event online. The participating teams from Nepal and various states of India introduced themselves amidst the educational-cultural items presented by the CMS Mahanagar students virtually. The inaugural function became more scintillating by the glorious online presence of CMS Founder and renowned educationist, Dr Jagdish Gandhi; CMS President, Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon and other dignitaries. It may be noted that CMS Mahanagar Campus is organizing virtual Macfair International-2020 from 21 to 25 September wherein 40 teams of students from India and abroad are participating online to showcase their scientific skills.

        In her inaugural speech, the Chief Guest, Mrs Sangeeta Singh, IAS, spoke that people are now open to change due to Covid-19 and it has brought us closer to the fundamentals of life. She advised all the participating students that you must put your hearts to everything you learn. Do learn academics and skills but learn values also. Human beings are facing tremendous global problems now. The responsibility on upcoming scientists is greater than ever now.

        CMS Founder and renowned educationist, Dr Jagdish Gandhi said that Macfair International organised online not only gives students to explore and demonstrate their talents rather it has motivated them to work for the welfare of society. Dr Gandhi emphasized that the message of Macfair is to save the God made earth. CMS President, Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon said that organizing Macfair International online is a revolutionary step encouraging the participants to hone their talents on a global forum.

        Ahead of it, the students of CMS Mahanagar Campus presented several educational-cultural items online and won the hearts of all. School Prayer, Welcome song, Macfair song, All Religion Prayer, World Peace Prayer presented online were heart winning.

        On the first day of the Macfair International, Science Quiz (Eureka) was held under which written round was followed by final round in which 10 students shortlisted from written round participated. Each team was represented by one student. Participants were asked questions on Science and technology which they answered quickly.

        The Convenor of Macfair International and Principal of CMS Mahanagar Campus, Dr Kalpana Tripathi welcomed the Chief Guest and all the invited guests and said that student teams from far off places have come on the forum of Macfair International to attend this virtual competition that proves that these young scientists want to unite the world. The competitions of Macfair will unravel student's talents and promote their will power and determination to take up challenges with open heart. Dr Tripathi informed that tomorrow on 22 September, Science Olympiad will be held from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm covering different sessions on Biology, Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics will be organized.
