Grand Closing of five-day Macfair International-2020

Lucknow, 25 September: The five-day long International Science and Computer Festival 'Macfair International-2020' organized virtually by City Montessori School, Mahanagar Campus came to a magnificent closure today. This international competition of Science and Computer saw nearly 40 teams of students participating in it online from Nepal and various states of India and showcased their talents and skills in Science Quiz, Science Olympiad, Jingles, Debate and Speech Competition and also spread the message of unity, peace and cordiality across the world.

        On the fifth and final day of virtual 'Macfair International - 2020', the students of CMS Mahanagar Campus virtually presented educational-cultural items in honour of the participating teams and mesmerized everyone. The programme began with All Religion Prayer and World Unity Prayer. The winners of competitions were announced and honoured online.

        'Extempore' (Speech Competition) was also held online on the last day wherein participants exhibited their speaking skills. The participants were judged for their content, presentation skills, qualitative arguments and pronunciation expressed in the stipulated two minute time.

        Ahead of it, a Debate Competition was also held on a very sensitive topic 'Designer babies: Boon or Bane.' In the final round of debate contest, the participants expressed their points for and against the topic. Speaking for the motion, Stanzin Loldan of Sagar School, Alwar, Rajasthan, said that since the human life came into being, we have been making machines, now it’s time we make humans. Parth Tripathi, of CMS Rajajipuram Campus while speaking against the motion, said that the idea of designer baby can diminish our existence and disrupt human evolution. Speaking for the motion, Daniyal Iqbal of Amarjyoti Saraswati International School, Gujarat said that designer baby is genetically designed with particular genes. No technology is hundred percent perfect but error cannot stop a process. Speaking against the motion, student of CMS Chowk Campus, Yash Sahu said that designer baby does not go well with originality. A child is better if nurtured with love and care and with whatever parents have. Similarly, other speakers spoke meaningfully and mesmerized the listeners.

        At the closing ceremony, while addressing the audience online, CMS Founder and renowned educationist, Dr Jagdish Gandhi encouraged the students saying that develop your latent talents and become the pride of mankind. Dr Gandhi further said that Macfair is organized with the aim to gather Science, Computer and Mathematics talents of the world on one forum to learn and compete and spread the message of World Unity and World Peace through them. The Convener of Macfair International and Principal of CMS Mahanagar Campus, Dr Kalpana Tripathi said that the students displayed their talents in this festival and also learnt the lesson of world unity. The power of talents hidden in these students makes us believe that they will lay the foundation of a new world in near future.
