Students of India and abroad exhibit their talents through Floor Art and Fireless Cooking contests

December 14 : On the 2nd day of the four-day International Sports, Arts and
Music Competition (The SAM 2020) today, students of Iran, Russia, Greece, Nepal
and many states of India showcased their creative talents with participation in
various interesting competitions and got to know about the cultures and
traditions of various countries through interaction with each other. It may be mentioned here that CMS Jopling
Road Campus is organizing the four-day International Sports, Arts and Music
Competition 'The SAM 2020' from 13 to 16 December 2020 in which student teams
from Iran, Russia, Greece, Nepal and various states of India are
enthusiastically participating. This international event aims at encouraging
collaboration and unity amongst the youth, thereby promoting solidarity and
brotherhood between the people of the world.
The SAM competitions began today with the E-Expedition
(Floor Art) competition in the senior category held on the topic 'Expanding
ethnic boundaries to embrace the exotic.' This competition was held in two
rounds. The first round was the selection round wherein the participants were
short-listed for the final live event. In the second round, the short-listed
participants recreated their designs live, before the judges. The students
showcased their talents and creative skills promoting the ideals of Vasudhaiv
Kutumbkam through their art as depicted in this competition.
Tongue Tinglers (Fireless Cooking), the other competition of the event, was
the centre of attraction today. Student participants from different countries
of the world won hearts with their creativity and skills. This competition was
also held in two rounds. In the first round, the participants had sent their
3-minute unedited videos of cooking while in the second round, the shortlisted
participants recreated the same dish from the same country in a different style
using local ingredients. Thereafter, the participants confidently answered the
queries put up by the judges of the event.
