Grand inauguration of International Science Olympiad Quanta-2020


 Lucknow, December 18 : The 3-day online International Science Olympiad 'Quanta-2020' organized by City Montessori School, Chowk Campus was inaugurated today amidst great fanfare. The welcome song, All Religions and World Unity Prayer, World Parliament and other cultural items presented online enthralled one and all. CMS Founder and renowned educationist, Dr Jagdish Gandhi blessed the participants from India and abroad and wished for their bright future. Chief Public Relations Officer of CMS, Mr Hari Om Sharma informed that students from various countries of the world including Brazil, Germany, Jordan, Bangladesh, Russia and various states of India are participating in the 3-day International Science Olympiad 'Quanta-2020' organized by CMS Chowk Campus from 18 to 20 December 2020. This international event has great fan following not only among the people of Lucknow but in the student community worldwide. Students from as many as 40 countries of the world have participated in 23 editions of Quanta held so for. This is the 24th time that CMS Chowk Campus is organizing this Olympiad.

            Chief Guest of the function, Dr Dinesh Sharma, Deputy Chief Minister, UP, said in his message that the knowledge of science should be used for the benefit of humanity. Today, we need great scientists who are also good human beings. If we need quality in life, we will have to resort to science and technology. He congratulated CMS for organizing Quanta-2020  and providing a unique platform to students to showcase their talents and skills.

            CMS Founder and renowned educationist, Dr Jagdish Gandhi said on this occasion that the responsibility of creating a peaceful society order lies with the youth of today and a humane scientific approach alone can lead to social upliftment. Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon, President and MD, CMS, said that we need to change our outlook to bring about world peace. We need to decide how and why and upto what extent we use our knowledge of science and technology to provide maximum benefit to humanity. She said that this Olympiad encourages healthy competition, motivates the younger generation to exchange their knowledge and ideas and enhances their creative thinking skills.

            Secretary of Quanta-2020 and Principal of CMS Chowk Campus, Mrs Aditi Sharma said that Mathematics & Mental Ability Quiz and Science Quiz will be organized at Quanta-2020 in which 23 student teams from India and abroad will exhibit their knowledge of Science. She said that the Quanta competitions would indeed be able to develop a global outlook and scientific temperament in students. She informed that the Mathematics and Mental Ability Quiz will be organized live on Zoom app tomorrow at 5.00 pm.
