CMS Rajajipuram Campus I organizes Inter-school Virtual Yoga Meet


Lucknow, June 21 : On the occasion of International Yoga Day today, City Montessori School, Rajajipuram Campus I organized 5th Inter-school Yoga Meet online. Chief Guest, Mrs Sanyukta Bhatia, Mayor, Lucknow, inaugurated the Yoga Meet online and several dignitaries from India and abroad registered their virtual presence. On this occasion, Founder of CMS, Dr Jagdish Gandhi; Yoga guru, Shri Ashok Kewlani and Col. Satyaveer Singh; Principals of all CMS Campuses and yoga enthusiasts joined it online and spread the message to stay healthy with Yoga. Yoga trainer from Bangkok, Ms Garima Parmar and Mrs Amarpreet Kaur from Indonesia also attended it. Over 25 schools of India participated in this yoga meet to showcase their yogasanas, yogic activities and physical prowess taking this amazing inheritance of India far and wide.
            In her address on this occasion, the Chief Guest, Mrs Sanyukta Bhatia, Mayor, Lucknow, said that CMS students are motivating the entire world to keep fit and safe through this yoga meet. Since the announcement of the International Yoga Day, City Montessori School is organizing yoga meet every year on a large scale with the commendable efforts of CMS Founders, Dr Jagdish Gandhi and Dr (Mrs) Bharti Gandhi and whole CMS fraternity. Yoga Meet organized online at this trying period of Covid-19 speaks volumes about the importance of yoga. CMS Founder, Dr Jagdish Gandhi said that yoga has now become very popular in the world and the credit for it goes to our Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi. Speaking further, Dr Gandhi said that the lifystyle people lead in this age needs yoga even more and create awareness about it is our responsibility for making society healthy and prosperous to live in.
        Inter-school Virtual Yoga Meet began with School Prayer followed by various yogasanas  performed under the guidance of yoga guru, Shri Ashok Kewlani. The live telecast of PM Modi's address was also heard by one and all. The participants included Allen House Public School, Kanpur; DPS International, Delhi; Hopetown Girls School, Dehradun; Little Angels High School, Gwalior; Prince Public School, Delhi; St. Mark’s Senior Secondary School, Delhi; Study Hall School, Lucknow etc. and all 18 campuses of CMS, who did 4 types of yogas in 4 minutes, each team comprisng 4 students.
        The contest was organized in three categories. In Group A, senior students aged 14 to 17 years, performed Virbhadrasana, Chakra Bandhasana, Vibhakta Paschimottanasana, Purna Supta Vajrasana, Padam Sarvangasana, Purna Bhujangasana, Padangushth Dhanurasana etc. In Group-B, junior students aged 11 to 14 years, performed Garudasana, Parsvakonasana, Bakasana, Purna Supta Vajrasana, Eka Pada Chakrasana, Yoga Nidrasana, Matsyasana, Dhanurasana etc. Similarly, in Group C, primary / sub-junior students aged 8 to 11 years, performed Trikonasana, Padahastasana, Ushtrasana, Garbhasana, Eka Pada Sikandhasana, Chakrasana, Sarvangasana, Dhanurasana etc. The judges for this event were Dr. Vishnu Kumar Singh, yogacharya; Ms. Shubhangini Chaturvedi, Owner of Namah Yog & Naturopathy Center and Dr. Umesh Kumar Shukla, Yogacharya University of Lucknow. The winners in various categories were felicitated. The E Certificates would be sent to them.
