CMS organises online Inter-campus poetry competition


Lucknow, 15 June : City Montessori School, Aliganj 1 Campus organised a unique online inter-campus Poetry competition. The idea was conceived and implemented by "Antiquity" - the history club of the branch. 4 well-known poets of Lucknow, Mrs. Jyoti Sinha, Mr. Anshumali Tandon, Mrs Vineeta Mishra and Mr. Chandra Shekhar Verma were invited as judges for the event. The judges enlightened the young students with the "what" and "how" of poetry & creative writing and encouraged them to write because poetry is the essence of life and not everyone is lucky enough to feel it.
              The topics of the poetry competition were "The predicament of the migrant workers in the light of novel Corona virus" and "The world changes with the advent of Covid-19" in English as well as the Hindi category. 53 students participated in the poetry competition and 11 were short-listed after consultation with the judges. The short-listed young poets recited their poems in the competition with eloquence.
              Garima Singh of Chowk branch stood first in the Hindi category and Angelina Hasan of Asharfabad campus stood first in English category. The principals of the respective campuses were present to applaud the winners of their campus.
              Antiquity-the history club of CMS Aliganj Campus 1 comprised of Manassvi Kesarwani, Anirudh Satpathi, Yash Raj Singh, Dev Raghuvanshi, Jahanavi Misra, Ashish Durgapal and Anoushka Gupta. The event was very compeered by Anushka Singh and Utkarsh Mishra who kept everyone entertained throughout the competition.
