International Computer Olympiad E-COFAS 2020 gets a grand online inauguration today


 Lucknow, 27 November : Four day International Computer Olympiad 'E-Cofas 2020' organized by City Montessori School, Rajendra Nagar Campus I got inaugurated today online with a splendor. Chief Guest on this occasion, Dr Navneet Sehgal, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Information, UP, virtually inaugurated this mega event. Participating teams of E-COFAS-2020 from Russia, Jordon, Bangladesh, Oman, Qatar and various states of India registered their online presence and introduced themselves amidst presentation of scintillating educational-cultural items. On this occasion, CMS Founder and renowned educationist, Dr Jagdish Gandhi wished the participants good luck for a healthy competition and a bright future. It may be mentioned here that over 50 teams of Russia, Jordon, Bangladesh, Oman, Qatar and various states of India are enthusiastically participating in this International Computer Olympiad, organized with the aim to encourage students and youth interface with technology and learn computer techniques and  also to develop in them the sentiments of peace, unity and cordiality.

              Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, the Chief Guest, Dr Navneet Sehgal, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Information, UP, said that computer and science should be adopted by all the fields of subjects, then only will we be able to move along with the world. He inspired the young scientists to use their knowledge for the benefit of human race and said that the young scientists should grab the opportunity of upgrading their knowledge in such events like COFAS.

              CMS Founder and renowned educationist, Dr Jagdish Gandhi spoke that this is the 20th year of organizing this amazing event to kindle the light of unity, peace and compassion in students and this year amidst this Corona pandemic. He expressed his firm belief that this Olympiad will not only enhance students' intelligence, it will also give expansion to the feelings of Vasudhaiv Kutumbkam. CMS President and MD, Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon said on this occasion that computer knowledge is imperative now and because besides being a tool to gain knowledge and commercial works, it has become a need for our daily life. The participants will surely be enriched more after attending this Olympiad, she said.

              The convener of ‘E-Cofas 2020’ and Principal of CMS Rajendra Nagar Campus I, Mrs Jayashree Krishnan informed that the competitions of this International event include Confabulor (Debate), Ad Tech (Advertisement), E-COFAS Doodle, Rendition (Paper Presentation), Creators (Logo designing), The Footage (My Story, My Content), Teenovations (Science Model) and Costek (Choreography) etc.,  for the junior and senior students. It will unleash the talents of students, help in boosting their will power and confidence and empower them to accept the challenges of life with ease, she hoped.
