Quality education drives progess: Quality experts of India and abroad opine

December : The four-day International Convention on Students Quality Circles
(ICSQC-2024), organized under the aegis of City Montessori School, Kanpur Road
Campus, concluded today with a resounding call from renowned quality experts
across the globe emphasizing that the betterment of humanity is possible only
through the inculcation of a quality mindset in education. The fourth and final
day of ICSQC-2024 at the CMS Kanpur Road auditorium witnessed engaging
discussions, where globally acclaimed quality experts shared their profound
insights. They inspired students to embrace the quality mindset by sharing
their experiences. On the final day, participating students from various
countries showcased their knowledge and skills in the ‘Quality Quiz’
competition with great enthusiasm.
The final day's
discussions commenced with an impactful address by Mr. Chamara
Bamunuarachhi, Education Secretary, Sabaragamuwa Province, Sri Lanka. He
praised CMS for fostering a sense of quality in future generations and guiding
them on the right path. Participating in the discussion, Dr. David Hutchins,
Principal of David Hutchins International Quality College, UK, stressed
that success comes from continuous practice. He encouraged students to persist
in improving their quality through consistent efforts. Prof. Vikramaditya
Duggal, CEO of Abhivyakti – The Expression, Hyderabad, delivered a keynote
address on ‘Empowering Students for Achieving All-Round Excellence’,
stating that excellence is not a destination but a journey—a remarkable journey
of self-discovery. Similarly, Mr. Kola Ulutimehin, Business Consultant, UK, spoke
on the topic ‘Resilience and Quality: Thriving in Times of Disruption’,
defining quality and discussing the seven principles of personal and social
success in detail.
Dr. Sunita Gandhi, Academic Strategist, elaborated on the ALPHA project
for the holistic development of pre-primary and primary school children. The
ALPHA project aims to enhance the quality of education and promote learning
through observation. Other quality experts, including Mr. Madhukar Narayan
from Mauritius and Dr. Purnajit Chatterjee from Bangalore, illuminated the
significance of the "quality mindset in education" through their
insightful speeches.
The afternoon session
featured an engaging ‘Quality Quiz’ competition, where participating
students from across the globe showcased their exceptional knowledge and
intellect. The finalist teams impressed everyone with their quick and precise
answers, demonstrating their expertise and skills. Additionally, a workshop
on ‘Driving Excellence: A Hands-On Workshop on Integrating Quality Circle Tools
and Techniques in Schools and Homes’ was conducted for the guidance of
students, teachers, and parents. The session was skillfully led by educationist
Ms. Selvi Santosham from Tamil Nadu.
The convention concluded with
a grand prize distribution ceremony, where winning student teams from
various countries were honored. Dr. Vineeta Kamran, Senior Principal of CMS
Kanpur Road and Convenor of ICSQC-2024, expressed heartfelt gratitude to
the quality experts and participating students from across the globe. She
remarked that the participation of students and experts from 13 countries in
this convention has added a new chapter to the history of Quality Circles.
