CMS felicitates Poulomi Pavini Shukla for bringing fame to the City of Lucknow

Lucknow, 9 February : City Montessori School, Lucknow organized a grand felicitation ceremony to honour its student Poulomi Pavini Shukla who has brought laurels to the City of Lucknow on the international front by having been featured among the 'Forbes India 30 under 30' list in view of the work she has done for the orphan children. CMS Founder and renowned educationist Dr Jagdish Gandhi, Senior Principal of CMS Gomti Nagar Campus, Ms Manjit Batra and Principal,  CMS Gomti Nagar campus II, Mrs Sangeeta Banerjee, besides large number of eminent citizens of Lucknow were present at the function organized this morning at CMS Gomti Nagar Campus II auditorium. It may be mentioned that every year, world famous Forbes Magazine prepares a list of talented people below the age of 30, who have done distinguished work in their respective fields.

              Poulomi Pavini Shukla has been a very talented student of CMS Gomti Nagar Camps I who had passed the ISC Board Exam in the year 2008-09 with 94.25% marks. Besides academics, she has always been a pioneer in the social awareness programme of the school. She was also the Head girl of the school. After completing school, she went on doing unparalleled work for poor and orphaned children and established her reputation as one of the most prominent volunteer social workers. Poulomi is a Supreme Court Lawyer and is constantly trying to provide education and rights to orphans. She has been successful in making many states take steps for the betterment of orphan children. In 2015 she has also written a book 'Weakest on Earth - Orphans of India' on the plight of the orphans. Poulomi is daughter of senior IAS officers, Pradeep Shukla and Aradhana Shukla.

              While felicitating Poulomi, CMS Founder and renowned educationist, Dr Jagdish Gandhi said that her featuring in the 'Forbes India 30 Under 30' list is a moment of pride for the entire CMS family. He said that she has illuminated the name of Lucknow by her social work and commitment. Wishing her a bright future he said that CMS students are not just bringing fame to the country but after adorning responsible positions in many countries of the world, they are realizing the ideals of Vasudhaiv Kutumbkam and promoting the spirit of Jai Jagat.

              On this occasion, Poulomi said in her address that CMS has contributed significantly to her success. Besides getting the best of academic knowledge here, she learned to do something for the country and society and got inspired to work for poor and orphaned children. She said that Dr Jagdish Gandhi's inspiring speeches in various school functions showed her the path and encouraged her. She appealed to all students to play a leading role in social awareness programmes and use their creative energies in wellbeing of people and social upliftment of the masses.
