CMS student conferred the prestigious AP International Diploma (APID) by College Board, USA

Lucknow, 17 August : Apurva Chauhan, a student of CMS Gomti Nagar Campus 1 has been conferred the AP International Diploma (APID) by College Board, USA, for excelling in a diverse range of college-level Advanced Placement exams. Considering that very few students across the world complete the APID requirements, it is a noteworthy achievement for a student from India to get this Award as the AP courses are not taught in the regular Indian school curriculum.

The APID is a globally recognised credential for students like Apurva who embrace an international outlook. She displayed exceptional achievement across several disciplines of study which include Sciences, Humanities, Foreign Languages and subjects with a global perspective.

A multi-talented student of CMS, Apurva is also the youngest Indian Soprano who performs in Italian, French, German, English and even Hindi languages and joins the elite group of world-renowned opera singers such as Cecilia Bartolli (Italy), Renee Fleming (USA), Montserrat Caballe (Spain) etc. She has earlier been awarded a level 4 Diploma of the Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM), London.

The elder child of Mrs Padmaja Chauhan, IPS, IG Police, Recruitment Board, Lucknow and Mr Ajay Chauhan, IAS, Commissioner of the Uttar Pradesh Housing Board, Apurva attributes her success to the well-rounded education and supportive environment in CMS.

Also a nationally ranked tennis player, she has already been conferred the Advanced Placement Scholar Award of the US College Board which eases admission of awardees into American universities.

Prof Geeta Gandhi Kingdon, President, CMS Board congratulated Apurva saying that this brilliant student has the knack of realizing her dreams and that she is delighted to know of Apurva’s latest achievement.
