3-day CMS Conference 'Vision 2025' concludes after intense discussion on bringing about positive changes in educational methods
Lucknow, 10 May : A three day Conference
of CMS teachers titled “Vision 2025” organized by City Montessori School at CMS
Kanpur Road Auditorium came to a grand conclusion here today. The Conference
provided a valuable platform for Principals and teachers to put forth their
views and make suggestions regarding changes in the present system of
education. The aim was to provide a practical framework for educationists and
teachers and encourage innovation and character development through education.
Virtues and values, it was felt, are an important part of education which must
be integrated into the school curriculum. The six C’s of education namely, character
building, critical thinking, creativity, global citizenship, communication and
collaboration were discussed with great zeal and vigour by the renowned
educationists. Educationists also discussed how to bring about positive changes
in education, upgrade professional skills, improve grading and develop world
citizenship etc which prominently feature in the New Educational Policy of the
Government of India. Discussions also included valuable suggestions given by
the parents and guardians.
At
the conclusion of this significant Conference, the CMS Founder-Manager,
Dr Jagdish Gandhi said that the thoughts and ideas of the teachers carried a lot of
weightage because it is ultimately the teachers’ responsibility to execute the
changes and make education a journey of pleasure for the students. While
preparing an educational policy we must focus seriously on the future of the
coming generation. CMS President and MD, Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon
highlighted the Role of teachers in
the development of society and said that
we need a New Education Policy which can address the present day problems and
increase the learning outcome of every student. Convenor of the Conference,
Principal CMS Jopling Road Campus Mrs Shipra Upadhyay, expressed her
heartfelt gratitude towards all the participants of the Conference and said
that the Conference will prove to be a milestone and lead to the all-round
development of students.
Chief
Public Relations Officer of City Montessori School, Mr Hari Om Sharma said that
during
this three-day Conference, CMS teachers shared their interactive discussions
with their students and parents as well as their own experiences in day to day
teaching. On this basis, further discussions were held to prepare a new
framework of and CMS pattern of education. The Conference witnessed a
consistent flow of ideas on concepts like metacognition, innovative and
creative changes, outdoor activity, youth empowerment program, character
education, global citizenship education and other topics.
