CMS organizes virtual function on 151st birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi


 Lucknow, 2 October : City Montessori School teachers today virtually celebrated the 151st birth anniversary of father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi with enthusiasm and joy, proclaiming to follow his principles and ideals. The function began with virtual lighting the lamp by the Chief Guest, Shri Swami Prasad Maurya, Labour Minister, UP, and CMS Founder and renowned educationist, Dr Jagdish Gandhi garlanded the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi spreading the message to imbibe his ideals. The occasion was marked by the presence of 3000 CMS teachers clad in white Khadi. CMS Founder, Dr (Mrs) Bharti Gandhi; CMS President and Managing-Director, Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon; Chief Executive Officer of CMS, Mr Roshan Gandhi; Superior Principal of CMS and Head of CMS Quality Assurance and Innovation Dept., Ms Susmita Basu; Principals of all CMS Campuses and other dignitaries were also present virtually at the function.

Chief Guest, Mr Swami Prasad Maurya, Labour Minister, UP, said in his address on this occasion that CMS is trully following the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi by teaching his principles to young minds which is the need of the hour. World Unity, World Peace and Vasudhaiv Kutumbkam are the motto of India and CMS is carrying forward these principles in true spirit.

Ahead of it, the grand virtual function of Gandhi Jayanti began with several educational-cultural items based on world unity and world peace spreading the ideals of ahimsa across the globe. Vande Matram and School Prayer were sung at the start followed by short film on the life of Bapu and presentation of World Parliament earned loud clappings. Other items presented on this occasion included All Religion Prayer, World Peace Prayer, Welcome Song 'Aayo Re Aayo Re Shubh Din Aayo Re', Songs 'Mehnat Karne Walon Ki' and 'Jaisa Sochoge Vaisa Ban Jaoge', Quwwali 'Bhar De Jholi' and Bhajans of Mahatma Gandhi.

Speaking on this occasion, Founder of CMS and renowned educationist, Dr Jagdish Gandhi said that the harmony will prevail in society only by following the principles of Mahatma Gandhi and the goal of World Unity can be achieved. He emphatically said that we must now actualize the dream of World Parliament, to actualise the dream of unity of Bapu. CMS President and Managing Director, Prof Geeta Gandhi Kingdon heartily welcomed the Chief Guest, Principals and others present online at the function and spoke that teachings and ideals of Mahatma Gandhi are still and ever relevant. At the end, CMS Founder, Dr (Mrs) Bharti Gandhi expressed her hearty thanks to all for organizing a wonderful programme online and said that divine education is especially significant in present world scenario because then only young generation can be developed with good character.
