2nd day of International Computer Olympiad 'COFAS-2024'


 

Lucknow, 24 August : The second day of the 4-day International Computer Olympiad ‘COFAS-2024’, organized by City Montessori School, Rajendra Nagar Campus I, witnessed an extraordinary display of knowledge and creativity by over 500 young scientists from Thailand, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and various states of India. These young participants not only showcased their scientific acumen in various exciting and educational competitions but also engaged in exchanging ideas, getting a glimpse of different cultures and civilizations from around the world. On the second day of this Olympiad, participants amazed both the audience and judges with their exceptional performances in competitions like Colesium (Drama), Creators (Flyer designing), Softek (Game designing) and Synthwave (Group singing) etc.

            The competitions began today with the Colesium (Drama) competition for the junior category. This event was based on the theme ‘Entertainment Technology,’ under which participants from India and abroad presented a short play on the topic ‘The Great Swap,’ showcasing their scientific knowledge, creative thinking, and acting skills. A total of 25 student teams participated in this event. Another major highlight of the day was the Creators (Flyer Designing) competition. In this senior category event, based on the theme ‘Sports Technology,’ participants created remarkable flyers on the topic ‘Tech on the Field,’ demonstrating their computer skills and creative thinking.

                In the afternoon session, the Synthwave (Group singing) competition saw students display their artistic talents. Teams of 8 students from junior and senior categories captivated the audience with their melodious performance on the topic ‘The Song of Gadgets.’ Similarly, in the Softek (Game designing) competition, students showcased their multifaceted talents by developing software based on the theme ‘Retro Gaming.’ Each team consisted of two participants, who enhanced their projects with graphics, sound, and music, demonstrating their artistic and creative abilities.

                Additionally, in the evening session, a grand cultural program ‘Euphoria’ was organized at the CMS Kanpur Road Auditorium, where teams from different countries mesmerized the audience with a vibrant display of folk dances and songs from their respective countries.

                Mr. Rishi Khanna, Head of the Communication Department at CMS, informed that the series of competitions at ‘COFAS International-2024’ will continue tomorrow, on August 25. The major events scheduled for Sunday, August 25, include Confabular (Debate), COFAS Doodle, Montage (Collage), Teenovations (Science Model), Jiv Conkers (Computer Quiz), and Costech (Choreography).
