Soccer in school takes CMS student to Spain

Lucknow, July 10 : Shyamji Awasthi, talented soccer player of CMS Kanpur Road Campus  crossed national boundaries to play in Spain. Having been invited by Real Madrid Club of Spain, he went on a 15 day trip to Spain where he met some soccer greats and coaches associated with this ever popular game and established his presence among top junior players of the game. In their midst he improved his own game and got the much needed international exposure to his talents. Shyamji’s talent in football outshone others and he won the Player of the Match award along with three medals and the trophy in the Under-18 category in La Liga Football League in Spain. The entire expenses of travel, board and lodging for the Spain trip were borne by the Real Madrid Club. This information was given by the Public Relations Officer of City Montessori School, Mr Rishi Khanna. Mr Khanna stated that the invitation to this bright CMS student to play and polish his talents in Spain by Real Madrid Club of Spain is, in itself, a great achievement and an honour. It clearly shows the immense talent, potential and hard work of this player and his great passion for football. The CMS Family feels immensely proud of Shyamji and his talent.

          CMS Manager, Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon expressed her profound joy and satisfaction over the achievement of Shyamji and congratulated him wishing him a bright future ahead. Prof Kingdon said that soccer is the most popular game in the world and it is good to see our players doing so well in this exciting game. She further said that this soccer trip to Spain would surely add to the player’s expertise and confidence and prove to be a landmark in his career. 

            Mr Khanna said that CMS has experienced Games’ teachers who take great pains with the children and hone the talents of the specially gifted ones. Special training camps are held to empower these players and train them in fitness and techniques of the game that they opt for so that they continue to create new milestones and win more medals and trophies. Not only is CMS the best school in academic achievements, it is also creating new records in co-curricular activities, games and sports.
