CMS student wins first prize in chess championship

Lucknow, May 1 : Viyan Agarwal, a talented Class I student of City Montessori School, Gomti Nagar Campus I conquered the fort winning first prize in Awadh Mahotsav Lucknow District Chess Championship thus bringing laurels to his school. Viyan won the first prize in the Under-7 boys’ category. The championship was organized under the aegis of UPCSA.  This information was given by the Chief Public Relations Officer of CMS, Mr Hari Om Sharma. Shri Sharma further stated that students of several prestigious schools participated in this chess tournament. In the midst of stiff competition, this gifted chess player displayed extraordinary patience, concentration, clever moves and a genius mind with which he was able to overcome all obstacles and emerge the winner. The skill and manoeuvres exhibited by him amazed the judges as he beat his opponent and was crowned with success. The organizers rewarded Viyan with a Certificate and trophy. He showed great promise of becoming an international player in years to come. CMS Manager, Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon has wished Viyan a bright future ahead.

            Mr Sharma said that CMS students are doing exceptionally well in various games and sports at national and international level. The school is giving them full support through its regular training in various games and sports and encouraging participation at different levels.
