Chief Secretary Shri Durga Shanker Mishra felicitates CMS meritorious students

Lucknow, 7 May : City Montessori School proudly felicitated its 3791 meritorious ISC and ICSE Board students, who secured 90% to 99.80% marks raising the school flag higher and higher, at a grand 'Meritorious Students Felicitation Function' organized at CMS Gomti Nagar Campus II auditorium. The Chief Guest, Shri Durga Shanker Mishra, IAS, Chief Secretary, UP, inaugurated the function ceremoniously by lighting the lamp of learning and honoured the topper students of CMS. Ahead of this, CMS Manager, Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon, while welcoming the Chief Guest, eminent guests, students and teachers announced that City Montessori School will honour its 74 toppers with a cash prize of Rs. One lakh each, who in ISC and ICSE Board Examinations-2024, scored marks between 99% to 99.80% and pinned the name of Lucknow on the national map. Prof Geeta Gandhi Kingdon while congratulating the meritorious students, also elaborated upon the magnificent success of seven CMS students selected in the IAS and one in National Labour Service as well as one CMS student (now fighter pilot and astronaut) selected by ISRO for space travel. Prof Kingdon said that these students had proved their calibre and the quality education imparted to them at CMS. They were the pride of the institution, she said.

               Addressing the gathering on this occasion, the Chief Guest Mr Durga Shanker Mishra, IAS, heartily congratulated the meritorious students saying that their determination and steadfastness of will and attitude will always stand them strong and help them to cross all hurdles in life as well as serve the nation in the best possible way. The main attraction of today’s meritorious students’ felicitation ceremony was the honouring of the parents of the position holders in a grand ceremonial way. Mothers of the three ISC (Class XII) toppers namely, Kanishka Mittal, Sariya Khan and Archita Singh, who had secured 99.75% in the ISC Boards, were weighed in fruits and flowers while their fathers were draped in Shawls of Honour. Similarly, the mother of ICSE Topper, Chandransh Rai, who had secured 99.8% marks in the ICSE Boards was specially honoured and his mother was weighed in fruits and flowers. All the 3791 meritorious students and position holders were felicitated and honoured on this occasion.

               Chief Public Relations Officer of CMS, Mr Hari Om Sharma informed that this year, a total of 6818 students took the ISC and ICSE Board Examinations, out of which 3791 (55.6%) students secured aggregate marks between 90% and 99.80% while 1409 i.e. 20.70% students secured above 95% marks. Mr Sharma informed that the 3791 toppers of ISC and ICSE Board Exams this year who had secured marks between 90% to 99.80% took out a 'Victory March' and inspired the younger students to aim high and hit the target with their hard work and planned effort. The Victory March began at Maqdoompur Police Station, Gomti Nagar Extension and ended at CMS Gomti Nagar Campus II auditorium.
