CMS celebrates World Book Day

Lucknow, April 20 : Students of Cambridge Section, City Montessori School, Gomti Nagar Campus Extension celebrated World Book Day (23rd April) and English Language Day with great zeal and enthusiasm. Former Chief Secretary of the state, Mr Alok Ranjan, IAS, inaugurated the function. Delivering a very powerful address, the former Chief Secretary, exhorted the students to delve deep into the world of books and derive full benefits from reading. He said that good books are good friends and it is these books which help us tide over difficult times and give us valuable life lessons which help us tread the right path.

            On this occasion, students presented several innovative and entertaining items showing the way of life and the importance of good books in a man’s life. They presented a skit “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”, Presentation on the Evolution of English Language etc. A panel discussion was held on the advantages and disadvantages of Artificial Intelligence.  A standup comedy and Glamour of the Royal Voltage of Princes’ Diaries added a special sparkle to the show. Children loved to wander around and experience the world of books. Some of them participated in discussion on characters and plots of their favourite books. On the whole, the function proved to be full of enjoyment and educational delight. Special guests on this occasion, Mrs Vera Hajela and Cambridge Section Incharge, Mrs Sushma Rajkumar expressed their thoughts on this occasion. The programme came to an end with Miss Manjit Batra, Senior Principal, CMS Gomti Nagar Campus Extension delivering the Vote of Thanks.
