Anshika of CMS qualifies Indian Statistical Service
Lucknow, December 16 : Anshika Bajpai, a student of City Montessori School, Kanpur Road campus, qualified the prestigious Indian Statistical Service examinations conducted by the Union Public Service Commission, the results of which were declared recently. The ISS is a civil service of the Central Civil Services of the Government of India. With only 11 seats all over the country, it is a civil service requiring a high degree of proficiency in Statistical methods and applications. The posts are recruited through UPSC examination.
Anshika joined CMS Kanpur Road in
2008 in class 6 and completed her class 12 with 91.25% marks in 2015.
Thereafter, she did her graduation with Maths, Statistics, and Computers, and
HER Masters in Statistics from Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University. Talking
about her success, Anshika says, ‘Since my school days, I was interested in
Mathematics but did not want to leave Lucknow, so I chose to pursue BSc instead
of B.Tech. I always believed in self-study instead of taking coaching and put
in a lot of hard work to crack the ISS exams’. Reminiscing her school days, she
says, ‘I came from a village and was weak in English. However, I got tremendous
support and encouragement from my teachers in CMS which gradually developed
confidence in me’.
Anshika's achievement is all the
more significant, given the personal tragedy she overcame. It was a double
whammy when she lost her mother to an accident in February 2020 and then her
father passed away due to COVID later that year. Left to fend for themselves,
she and her two younger brothers fought the odds with grit and determination.
She says at that point in time, she was left with no other option than to put
in her best to qualify in the ISS exams. ‘I wanted to fulfill the WISHES of my
parents, she says.““Her aim in life, she says, is to give back to society
through social work. Her message to the young students, nothing is permanent in
this world including failures, so never give up and put in your best each
time.“ Dr Jagdish Gandhi,
Founder-Manager of CMS, Congratulated Anshika and her teachers for her great
achievement.
