A healthy body is home to a healthy mind — Dr Jagdish Gandhi, Founder Manager, CMS

Lucknow, December 4:  City Montessori School, Kanpur Road campus organized its Annual Sports Day in a grand manner in the school playground today. CMS Founder Dr Jagdish Gandhi inaugurated the event by lighting the sports torch. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Gandhi said that sports are extremely important for the overall development and health of children. A healthy body is home to a healthy mind, therefore sports and games are as important as education for the children.

            Earlier, the programme commenced with the school prayer and a display of variety of educational-cultural items put up by the students. Little ones smartly matched footsteps with tremendous enthusiasm in a splendid march past. There was a stiff competition amongst the participants to score medals in various sports competitions and the students gave their best showcasing their strength, stamina, and talent. While the students of pre-primary section displayed their agility in balloon race, alphabet race, balancing the ball race, big fish race, tunnel race, collect the cones etc, students of primary section competed in carrot and rabbit race, obstacle race, 25 mts race, 50 mts race, 100 mts race etc.

            CMS President and MD, Prof Geeta Gandhi Kingdon said that such sporting events promote cooperation, boost self-confidence and inspire the students to give their best in life. Senior Principal of CMS Kanpur Road Campus, Dr (Mrs) Vineeta Kamran congratulated the students, teachers and parents for the grand success of Sports Day and said that a healthy body is very important for intellectual development of students and this is possible only through sports.
