'International Conference of Chief Justices of the World' at CMS from November 22

12 November : The "25th International Conference of Chief Justices of the
World" will commence on Friday, November 22, at the CMS Kanpur Road
Auditorium. Presidents, Prime Ministers, Speakers of Parliaments, Parliament
Members and Judges from the International Court of Justice, including Chief Justices,
Judges and legal luminaries from 54 countries, are set to arrive here at
Lucknow to participate in this conference. This information was shared today by
the Convener of the Conference and CMS Manager, Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon, at
a press conference held at the CMS Gomti Nagar Campus I auditorium. Dr. Bharti
Gandhi, CMS Founder-Director, and Mr. R.C. Gupta, General Secretary of the
conference, were also present on this occasion. Speaking to journalists, Prof.
Kingdon said that this historic conference, based on
"Article 51 of the Indian Constitution" and themed “A Governance for
the Future,” is dedicated to world unity, world peace, and a secure and
prosperous future for the world’s 2.5 billion children. Held on the soil of
Lucknow for 24 consecutive years, this conference has tirelessly championed
world unity, peace, justice, and children's rights. The “25th International
Conference of Chief Justices” continues this tradition.
Speaking to the
press, Prof. Kingdon also shared that the Honorable Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath, has been invited to
inaugurate this historic conference on November 22. Additionally, Mr. Rajnath
Singh, Defence Minister of India; Mr. Arjun
Ram Meghwal, Minister for Law and Justice, Govt. of India; Mr. Kirti
Vardhan Singh, Minister of State for External Affairs, Govt. of India; Dr.
Sudhanshu Trivedi, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha); Ms. Katalin Novak,
former President of Hungary; Sir Rodney Errey Lawrence Williams,
Governor-General of Antigua and Barbuda; Mr Justice Anthony Thomas Aquinas
Carmona, former President of Trinidad and Tobago; Dr Pakalitha B.
Mosisili, former Prime Minister of Lesotho; Mr Jean-Henry Ceant,
former Prime Minister of Haiti; Mr Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin,
Speaker of Parliament of Ghana; Mr Justice Dalveer Bhandari, Judge of
the International Court of Justice, Netherlands etc. will enhance the dignity
of the conference with their esteemed presence.
Outlining the
detailed program of this historic conference, Prof. Kingdon stated that distinguished
legal luminaries and other eminent personalities from various countries will
gather on November 20 in New Delhi, where they will pay tribute to Mahatma
Gandhi at Rajghat at 10:00 am. Following this, they will address the first
session of the conference at Constitution Club at 12:00 noon. Later that day,
these distinguished guests will visit Rashtrapati Bhavan and attend a dinner
organized by the National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha'is of India at the
Lotus Temple. On November 21, they will visit the Taj Mahal in Agra before
departing for Lucknow.
On this
occasion, Dr. Bharti Gandhi, CMS Founder-Director, expressed her pride that prominent
figures from around the world are once again gathering in Lucknow, illuminating
its name on the global stage. She stated that the late Dr. Jagdish Gandhi, CMS
Founder, believed in "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" and dedicated his life
to ensuring a secure and prosperous future for the world’s 2.5 billion
children. It is due to his unparalleled efforts that this conference has gained
global prestige, with 1,480 chief justices, judges, and legal experts from 141
countries attending to date. Dr. Gandhi expressed her confidence that this
upcoming conference, starting on November 22, will provide a new direction to
global society in uniting the world and securing the future of 2.5 billion
children.
Mr. R.C. Gupta,
General Secretary of the conference, informed that the formal inauguration of
this historic conference will take place on Friday, November 22, at 9:00 am at
CMS Kanpur Road auditorium. After a day of discussions, a grand "Welcome
Ceremony" will be held at 5:00 pm to honour the chief justices, judges and
distinguished guests from various countries. Defence Minister of India, Shri
Rajnath Singh, will be the Chief Guest on this occasion.
