CMS students take out Interfaith Harmony March

Lucknow, February 1 : Students of City Montessori School, Asharfabad Campus took out a grand 'Interfaith Harmony March' today and made a vehement appeal for maintaining communal harmony and unity to all social and religious communities. Various religious leaders including Shri Madhu Smita Das from Hinduism, Maulana Aejaz Athar and Maulana Sufiyan Nizami from Islam, Shri Harpal Singh Jaggi from Sikhism, Father Denis Naresh Lobo from Christianity, Shri Shailendra Jain from Jainism, Bhante Gyanlok from Buddhism and Mrs Mohajer from Baha'i faith led this huge March of CMS students giving the message of brotherhood, peace and harmony. Earlier, CMS President and Manager, Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon along with the eminent religious leaders of different religions lit the lamp of unity and communal harmony to commence the March.

            On this occasion, CMS President and Manager, Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon said that Religious Unity and World Peace are the need of the hour and these virtues should be implanted in the young generations from the beginning. CMS students create not just academic records but are also on the forefront in socially-useful activities as responsible citizens of the society. CMS students are determined to revive the ailing world society suffering from the agonies of war and hatred, she added.

            The 'Interfaith Harmony March' began from the campus premises and marched in discipline  in rows on the streets of Asharfabad in wonderful peace and harmony. Clad in traditional dresses of Hindu, Muslim, Sikh and Christian, the students carried placards with slogans of religious manifestations to inspire people to live in  communal harmony and social and cultural amity receiving the massive support of the general public. Mrs Trapti Dwivedi, Principal of CMS Asharfabad campus expressed her heartfelt gratitude towards all for encouraging and supporting the noble cause of peace, harmonay, tolerance and equality being propagated by CMS students.
